Vintage Heavy Brass Apothecary /Pharmacy Mortar w/ Double Eagle Head Handles Richard A. Klein Inc. (No Pestle) EUC
This listing is for a vintage heavy brass apothecary-pharmacy mortar manufactured by Richard A. Klein Inc. It has an eagle head on each side for the handles, along with an image of porcupines on each side for decoration. Unfortunately the pestle is missing. It also has the following inscriptions around the bottom rim portion of the cup: "MDCL" (1650 A.D.) and "RVFOLAND" (Unknown) It also has a #2, "Richard A. Klein" & "R.A.K." on the underside base. Please view all pictures for a complete description. It exhibits a hefty 3+ pounds weight and has a great patina to add to the uniqueness of the piece. Whether you buy it as a collectible investment or as a charming decorative object d'art, you won't be disappointed. The used vintage piece is in excellent condition with only minor wear from use and age.
