    Description

Vintage 1976 brass mortar.  Promotional item for the pharmaceutical industry during the 1976 U.S. bicentennial.  One side has text reading: "76  Pharmacy Celebrates America's Bicentennial."  Other side is nearly the same, except that the "76" has been replaced by the Rx symbol.  Bottom edge of the mortar has the Latin phrase: "Secundum Artem" which translates roughly to "according to the art or practice" which refers to following the accepted behavior in a field of study.  Mortar appears to have been used, as there's a bit of white residue on the inside.  Otherwise, it's in perfect condition with no flaws or other damage.  Mortar is about 2.75" tall and 3.25" in diameter at the top.  No manufacturer is identified anywhere.  No pestle.  The previous owner had used this item as a pencil cup, and it would look great as a desktop decoration for someone in the medical field.  Thanks for looking!
Please read the information in the Payment and Shipping tab and look at all of the photos to judge the condition for yourself before bidding or buying because returns are not accepted.  The photos are considered part of the description for this mortar, and the buyer will receive the mortar pictured in this listing.
