Stunning Large Very Heavy Wood Mortar and Pestle - Beautiful Craftmanship

Description

This is a gorgeous example of a utilitarian item that transcends into the world of craftmanship and art. It is made from an unknown wood but it is very heavy (more than 8 pounds for both pieces) and is very large.
A collector I had questioned about this particular item said he believed it may have originated in England but there are no marks which would confirm that. In any case, it is a beauty.
Please note the splits in the pestle.
