Pharmacy Mortar and Pestle Drug Store Apothecary Shop Brass Home Decor

Description

Beautiful 19th century large brass mortar and pestle with squared ear handles and incised bands on the rim and sides.  It is unmarked, if I had to venture a guess I'd say that it was made in England.  It has seen a lot of use, probably in an apothecary shop, so the surfaces are quite worn, which adds to the charm of the piece.  It has no damage and is still quite usable, prefect for blending fresh herbs in the kitchen.
