From my collection for your review & considerations is a very nice heavy brass mortar & pestle.
About 4 inches high and about 4-1/2 inches wide at top.
Pestle is around 7-1/2 inches long.
Weight of mortar is 2#14oz alone and 3#13oz with pestle.
Might have been used in a pharmacy or apothecary but other uses are possible also.
No idea the age but likely not an antique.
I also do not know if it is solid brass or exactly makeup of the metal.
It has been in my collection for 30+ years.
Mostly likely made to
look older than it is when made.
I believe it was a decorative item and
not actually used.
This is sold as a collector item or for display only and not for use with pharmaceuticals or food items.
