    Offered for your consideration is this Huge & Heavy 1902-1920's Thomas Maddock's Sons Co Granite Stoneware 12" Mortar & Pestle #9 of Trenton, NJ. This acid proof mortar & pestle is all original and marked from Thomas Maddock's Sons Company. The company was founded in 1873 as Millington, Astbury & Maddock. It then became Thomas Maddock & Sons in 1882. Finally it was renamed Thomas Maddock's Sons Co. in 1902 and sold out in 1929. This set is dated somewhere in the early 1900's.
    The mortar is spouted and together with the pestle weighs in at 18 lbs 9.7 oz and oh is it smOOth. No issues
    Width of mortar is 12-1/4" (including spout) and 11-5/8" diameter (without the spout - edge to edge) x 6-1/2" high. No issues.
    The pestle is 12-1/2" long x 3-1/4" wide.
    Both pieces are free from damage of hairline cracks or chips and the pestle is solid (no movement between the wood and stone).
