Apothecary Pharmacy Bowl - Ironstone Mortar

Description

Antique English Ironstone Mortar stone bowl (no pestle included). Marked Trade Mark M with diamond. Measures approx. 5 1/2 D x 3 1/2" H. There are no chips or cracks, but it does have some staining. This was found underground (in earth) in New York - behind the Old Homestead underneath Strawberry Fields - it came out of the one of the many outhouse pits - It is identified as Civil War Era.
