  • Condition: This is a very fine lignum vitae mortar and pestle. All made from one soild piece of wood and turned on a lathe. The pestle may have been made from the same piece of wood. Very hard and dense.There are 2 cracks along the top edge from shrinkege. The Mortar measures 7 1/2" tall by 5 1/2" in diameter and the pestle is 10" long. From the late 1700s/early 1800s.
