    Up for Sale is an
Amazing Example of an Antique Pre-Depression Era Brass Heavy Mortar & Pestle Apothecary 1914-17
    - My family has a history of Pharmacists in the family that pre-dates the depression. My Great Uncle Harry owned his own Pharmacy in the 1910's- 1930's. Harry often filled Rx's on credit during the Great Depression, but many customer's were unable to pay their bills and unfortunately he was forced to close his doors because of an inability to pay his vendors. My great uncle was a pharmacist before most drug companies were even born. He compounded most Rx medications himself using the tools of the trade at the time. Up for sale is one of those tools.
    - This Brass Mortar & Pestle is dated on each side- one side shows 1914 and the other 1917. It is heavy weighing 4 pounds 6 ounces. There are signs of wear/use on either end of the pestle. The interior base of the mortar shows wear as well. There is a Maltese Cross between the 19 and 14/17 dates on each side.
    - Size ~ 5 Inches Tall, 6 Inches Wide, with a 4 3/4 Inch opening of the Mortar. The Pestle is ~ 8 3/4 inches long.
    - This item is a true Antique and dates to over 105 years old. This would make a one of a kind addition to any collection or a great piece of history for your favorite Pharmacist.
