1863 3rd Iss. 50c Fractional Currency Narrow Margin Spec. SIGNED & SCARCE! Mr.C
"Signed Jeffries Spinner and Cataloged as 1330ASNMF"
Bright and attractive bronzing.  Printed on CSA paper.  There is typical ink erosion by Spinners signature.  A strip of paper was used to repair the note
on the back and to bolster Spinners signature.  It does not appear that the note was
completely
split where it was repaired but you can see some splitting at the top of the note as well as the bottom.  I can't ascertain the extent of the tear since the repair was well done and there is no offset in the design that shows on the front.  From the front of the note you can see some of the paper used to repair the note at Spinners signature but it
doesn't
show otherwise.  There is a small chip on the right side of the note and a 5mm tear on the left side of the note through the "D" in approved.  There are traces of mounting that show from the back and this note most likely was removed from a shield.
All in all the note faces up as an attractive specimen!
