Florentine Bronze Pharmacy Apothecary Mortar with faces. A heavy cast bronze pharmacy mortar. Estimated to be from the 16th or 17th centuries. Thought to be from Western Europe. Features ribs/columns separated by heads that’s show a classical male figure with a laurel wreath. There are four heads on the mortar. 4 3/8” wide by approximately 3” tall. The base is not completely flat, as shown in the photos. The last four photos I took with the flash on to show the true color of the bronze.
