3M™ Roloc™ Durable Edge Disc 977F is a quick-change disc that features 3M’s high-performing ceramic abrasive grain on a laminated YF-weight polyester backing for durability and cutting efficiency, making fast work of light to medium pressure wet or dry applications. Use this disc for dimensioning parts, deburring, grinding and blending welds, and grinding and finishing castings or forgings.
Where traditional cloth discs may fray or break down at the edges, our 3M™ Roloc™ Durable Edge Disc 977F provides outstanding performance on edge work, even on contours. Ceramic grain with reinforced backing improves durability, disc life, and cut-rate, offering greater throughput in less time. Less pressure is required to achieve maximum cut-rate, which reduces operator fatigue. The disc is resin-bonded to withstand high heat and pressure, and a grinding aid reduces grinding temperatures to protect heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel and nickel alloys.
Abrasives made with our 3M™ Ceramic Abrasive Grain have outstanding durability, cut exceptionally fast, and have a long service life. 3M™ Ceramic Abrasive Grain is a 3M proprietary ceramic mineral formed using a process to enhance toughness and hardness of the grain. It is chemically engineered with a unique “stay sharp” crystalline structure, which continually reveals fresh cutting edges on the surface of the disc, ensuring extended high performance and enabling operators to do more work in less time, for significant gains in both ergonomics and productivity.
